McFarlan Rowlands is currently seeking a communications expert who will report directly to the COO and be located in our York street office.
You will be accountable for
- Developing and executing strategic, creative, high-quality communications for McFarlan Rowlands Insurance Brokers
- Ensuring communications and brand consistency across the lines of business
- Working with team members, business partners and senior management to develop creative marketing communications plans that support channel marketing strategies
- Crafting content that is creative, compelling, well-timed and appropriate for the audience
- Building open, collaborative relationships with business partners, marketing communications team members and outside suppliers
- Providing creative direction to marketing communications media teams, business partners and outside vendors
- Create concise and compelling copy (i.e. Press releases, customer communications etc.) for distribution channels, including feeds and various online outlets
- Identify opportunities in user generated online content surrounding out brand, and report to the appropriate parties
- Recommend and implement methods to increase customer satisfaction
- Build and maintain our content distribution network by way of social media channels
- Participate in online conversations that surround our content and brand
- Be the online “eyes and ears” of the McFarlan Rowlands brand
- Interact with various Marketing/PR agencies
- Manage and track online campaigns
- Other duties as assigned

| Qualifications |
- Have at least three years of previous communications experience writing corporate or marketing communications or advertising
- A Bachelor's degree in corporate communications, public relations or advertising, or a degree in Journalism or English
- Strong demonstrated business writing skills- plans, print, online
- Must be self-motivated, organized and able to multi-task and prioritize jobs to meet deadlines
- Must enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Be highly creative and have a willingness to “think outside the box”
- Be dedicated to understand social media outlets including Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIN, StumbleUpon, delicious, Digg, Reddit, Flickr, blogs, Twitter, Wikis
- Possess functional knowledge or some experience with HTML/CSS
- Be aware of industry best practices and comfortable with public speaking
- Telecommunications experience a definite asset

McFarlan Rowlands is currently seeking a licensed Commercial In-house producer for our Norwich Office.
You will be responsible for
- renewal and servicing of an assigned group of accounts, mainly small package and agricultural accounts
- Cross-selling and up-selling to existing clients
- Growth of the assigned book of business
- Make outside calls as required
- Prepare detailed applications and surveys for coverages sold
- Co-ordinate with the Marketing Department on placement of Commercial Lines business
- Responsible for accounts receivable on all your accounts
- Maintain a detailed record of all sales, calls, contracts, etc.

- At least three years of insurance experience, principally commercial lines
- A current RIBO license
